February - Black Opal

Our February colour of the month is a variegated mixture of Rust, Fuchsia, Teal and Grape that knits and crochets into a really pretty fabric. Read below to see more about my swatches.

How It Works

Our Colour of the Month is a one off colourway created at the beginning of each month that will be available all throughout that month. It is offered at a discounted rate for the month and on 4 of our most popular yarn bases only ($5 per skein saving).

Each yarn base is dyed exactly the same allowing the differences unique to that yarn to shine through. For example the colour on the Merino Silk Yak will be more muted, darker and moody due to the grey yarn base. The Merino Silk Cashmere will show the colour in a softer light due to the silk reflecting the light. The DK will show larger splotches of colour due to the thickness of each strand and how it lays in the pans and finally the Eco Lux Sock will show the most vibrant of the colours.

Once the ready to ship stock is sold out you can order this as a custom dyed to order lot but we will also be restocking as it sells out. Our custom orders usually ship within a week (often less) of your order being placed so you won't have long to wait.

My samples in the photos above were done on a 3mm crochet hook and 2.50mm needles over 25 stitches using the Merino Silk Cashmere.

Care

Handwash only. We recommend that all our hand dyed yarns are hand washed in cool or tepid water and dried flat for best care.

Small batches hand-dyed in our studio located in Brisbane, Australia. We try to represent colourways as accurately as possible in our product photos. Individual skeins may vary slightly and we recommend you alternate between skeins every few rows on larger projects. Please ensure you buy enough to finish your project as future dye lots may have subtle differences.
